These are the latest updates from the world of photo-editing software. It’s not exhaustive because some news items are more important than others, and some are just routine marketing, but if there are any big events, I’ll cover them here.
With this Nik Collection 4.2 update, DxO says it has improved the responsiveness of the U-point adjustment tools in Silver Efex Pro 3, fixed a compatibility issue with Capture One and made the Nik plug-ins work with Photoshop in native M1 mode on new Macs.
ON1 Photo RAW 2020 will arrive by the end of September 2021 and will come with several new features, including Sky Swap AI.
Exposure X7 is coming, and here’s a sneak preview. If you buy Exposure X6 now, you will get X7 free when it’s released this autumn.
Capture One 21 adds some interesting new features, many of which are aimed at improving the image importing and editing workflow. The new Dehaze tool may prove to be the most immediately useful, though.
Almost all the software applications reviewed and described on Life after Photoshop are available as a free trial, and here are the links. I always recommend using the trial version before making your mind up.
