07 Add your preset
Once you’ve got all the export settings how you want them, now’s the time to click the Add button in the bottom left corner of the dialog. You’re then prompted to choose a name for your new export preset.
08 Exporting images
So let’s see if it works. I want to export this image for the website, so I use the File > Export command, choose my new preset and, sure enough, it prompts me for a location to save the exported file to.
09 The exported file
And when the export is complete, Lightroom opens a Finder window to show me where the new file has been saved. The preview looks good, and the info panel alongside confirms that it’s been resized. The new dimensions are 1024 x 680 pixels, so it has indeed been resized to 1024 pixels wide.
I like the idea that you can embed copyright information in your exported files, and that ties in neatly with part 2, which follows tomorrow – how to create and embed a copyright watermark in your images when you export them.
